3 Inspirational UX Design Resources

  • by

In my time as a designer, I’ve come across some particularly unique design resources. While some are more mainstream – like Behance or Medium – others are more niche. The design community is always coming up with incredible ideas, and networking has been a great source to learn about all kinds of inspirational resources when it comes to UX design and beyond. Here are a handful of newsletters, blogs, and more that keep my UX mind open and creative juices flowing.

Creative Brew

I learned about the Creative Brew when someone reached out to me via Behance. This weekly newsletter shares tools and inspiration for designers, creators, and photographers. I’ve loved having a fun, weekly recap to keep up with industry trends and tools (in particular, this amazing interactive portfolio in the form of a ramen bar ?).

From new, free font libraries, to drag and drop web builders I would have never heard of otherwise, seeing the next Creative Brew email sitting in my inbox is delightful.

Honest UX Talks

There’s a podcast for everything, but this has to be one of my favorites when it comes to UX. Hosted by Ioana and Anfisa, this podcast takes the form of a conversation between two UX friends with about 20 years of industry experience between them. The topics range from job hunting, to different UX environments and what they are really like to work in.

Honest UX Talks is my go-to when exploring a new topic, or trying to find a more authentic point of view. With a lot of noise about UX design out there, their content helps me wade through and find information I really need.

BuiltIn Blog

I first found BuiltIn as a job board, and learned that they have excellent blog content after receiving a few newsletters from them. I focus on the Design + UX content on their blog, but they also cover topics such as big news in the startup space, data science trends, and software engineering perspectives.

If you are really looking to stay up to date with industry trends in tech overall, BuiltIn is the place to go. They have content on topics I have spent hours searching for on my own, and talk about ideas and folks out in the UX space that I’ve never even heard of.

The field of UX is vast and ever adapting to technology. There are so many incredible people working in this unique design space, and finding cool resources like these ones have helped me continue to grow as a UX designer. I hope they can help you, too!
